What services does Tall Emu provide?

Tall Emu provide business software solutions. We have been developing software applications for large and small business since 2002 working for companies as small as single individuals through to major multinational corporations.

What areas do you service?

We are based in Sydney but have partners, support staff and resellers in all the major capitals of Australia. We also have clients in NZ, Singapore & the UK.

What sort of programs have you written?

Tall Emu has produced many applications. The following list some of these applications:

• Total Enterprise CRM: Comprehensive business application designed to manage and automate virtually any business.
• Credit card processing and management system: Processes millions of dollars of transactions each work day for one of the "Big 4" Australian banks.
• Telemarketing System for Wine Industry: Web based Telemarketing system for that tracks sales, stock, produces reports of sales and integrated with a Voice Over IP (VOIP) phone system reducing call costs.
• Web-based mortgage processing: Data entered on the website is transferred to the backoffice and automatically processed.
• Online book store: Created an online book store which accepts payments via Paypal, and automatically stores customer information in the CRM, and creates and sends invoices automatically in MYOB.

What technical skills do you have?

Our team has a great deal of technical experience and we've even taught application development and database design. We've automated a variety of tasks in our time and made systems that don't want to talk to each other do so fluently.

• Performing our own testing on the program to make sure it's technically correct.
• Helping you to test the program to make sure it meets your needs.
• Revisions, and any bug fixes - plus retesting as necessary.
• Installation.

What are common problems in the software development process?

It is best to know what the potential pitfalls are so that they can be avoided.

• Inadequate requirements: Requirements may be unclear, incomplete, too general, and not testable.
• Unrealistic schedule: If too much work is planned for too short a time problems are inevitable.
• Inadequate testing: System testing of new software must be carried out to ensure it works as expected.
